And you thought your mom was a little eccentric at your wedding! We asked several wedding-industry insiders to spill their craziest mother-of-the-bride stories — and let's just say that they put Jane Fonda's character in Monster-in-Law to shame. You won't believe how badly behaved these MOBs were, before, during, and after the ceremony.

The MOB Who Wanted to Be a Bride for the Day, Too
"I had a mother of the bride that bought a wedding dress in the same salon on the same day as her daughter — she wanted to wear it down the aisle! The bride got so upset she canceled the wedding and eloped." — A wedding planner

The MOB Who Drank One Too Many
"We recently had a bride and her mother come into to meet with me. At the first planning meeting, the mother described a seated dinner with banquet style round tables for 450 people. Later that week, I got a call from the bride saying that she and the groom wanted a cocktail party with heavy lounge furniture and no banquet tables for 200 people — max. We had another meeting to find some common ground — they fought in front of us during that meeting and all the subsequent meetings for several weeks while getting drunk on wine. The mother actually passed out on my conference table at one point. They ended up going with the event we had developed in the compromise, but the father flipped out when he heard the price. After all of that, the mother got drunk at the wedding and fell down the stairs. The bride also got drunk and threw up all over the dance floor. Then, the couple, family, and friends trashed the hotel bridal suite during a late night post-wedding party — the damages almost cost more than the wedding itself! Later, they complained about the wedding photos, saying how horrible they looked. Our response: 'Yes, you did look horrible!'" — A wedding planner

The MOB Who Was Gone in 60 Seconds
"A few years back I shot a wedding at which the mother of the bride and her sister, who was the maid of honor, both bailed after the ceremony because they didn't like the groom. It ruined the vibe for the rest of the day." — A wedding photographer

The MOB Who Stole Her Bride's Look
"I've produced lots of weddings and had my share of nasty MOBs, but the one that truly stood out was the one that wanted to wear a replica of her daughter's wedding gown, veil and all, only in a different color! She had gotten her way with her daughter on almost every other decision, since the MOB was holding the checkbook. This was the one instance the bride held firm though, telling her mom, 'If you do that, you will be the only one in a wedding dress that day, we'll elope!' Everyone in the room applauded the bride at that moment." — A wedding planner
