Finding the wedding dress of your dreams is one of the greatest moments of the wedding adventure. After dreaming up a vision of what your wedding dress will look like and then finding it hanging on a rack in a store and buying it as your own, is something you will treasure forever. But what happens if your dress doesn't fit on your wedding day? Maybe the last-minute alterations were off by a little or for some reason your body has changed? There's no need to panic! Here is a guide on how to fix your dress on the day of your wedding if it's too big, too long, too short, or even too small.
Too big?
If you climb into your dress and notice that there is way too much wiggle room, you'll want to do a quick at-home alteration. You can use a safety pin to pull it tightly together on one side, under your armpit. It won't be as noticeable there.
Too long?
First, try wearing shoes with a higher heel. If that doesn't work, you can use duct tape to create your own hem-line alteration.
Too short?
Grab a pair of shoes with a lower heel and understand this as a blessing in disguise. It will help you take over the dance floor a whole lot easier, without tripping on the edges of your dress.
Too small?
If you can't zip it all the way up, zip it as high as you can and with a needle, thread a clear Fishing line to hold the zipper in place. Then, use fabric the same color as your dress and double sided tape to hold the fabric in place between the open part of your dress.
