Wedding Welcome Basket Shopping List

It’s easy to get carried away when figuring out what to include in your welcome baskets (we obviously did!), so we’ve noted the importance of each item for you.

Make sure everyone's in the right place at the right time by including a detailed itinerary of the weekend's events.

For those who aren't familiar with the area, a guidebook makes it easy for them to see important sights (and find out where to shop or grab a quick bite to eat) during their downtime.

At hotel gift stores bottled water is such a racket—provide this must-have and you'll spare your guests the expense.

Save them from getting ripped off by the minibar with sweet and savory snacks. We'd want fancy chocolates and crackers.

Who can't use a mint or two? These contain caffeine, for an extra boost the morning after the wedding.

Don't force them to drink the hotel room's lame tea and coffee selections—offer up high-quality hot drinks.

Whether it's a torn dress strap or a spilled glass of Shiraz, help guests out by including an emergency kit with items like a sewing kit and stain remover. Put together your own, or buy a ready made kit.

Include a bottle of champagne or wine to help guests unwind after a stressful flight.

An assortment of luxe spa products is a delightful surprise, especially if the gang is staying in a no-frills motel.

A beautiful scent will mask any weird hotel odors, and this packable, scented candle also calms and soothes.

Everyone will think you're wildly clever (not to mention thoughtful) if you include a game, like crossword puzzles, cards or—our old-school favorite—a Rubik's Cube
