Las Vegas Bachelorette Party Planning: Everything You Need to Know Now

With its reputation for revelry, Las Vegas has long been a favorite destination for bachelorette getaways. What's not to love about a weekend out of town with some of your favorites in tow, with any number of leisure pursuits at your beck and call? From luxe retreats to around-the-clock eats, Las Vegas delivers any time of day or night — and it's constantly upping the ante with new offerings. Thinking about having your bachelorette in this famously fabulous destination? Here's what you need to know right now:

The Cosmo Is (Still) a Big Deal. Landing on Las Vegas Weekly's "Best of Vegas" list yet again for 2016, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is not resting on its laurels as being one of the hottest properties on The Strip. Instead, the resort is adding to its cache, having recently opened a 10,000-square-foot outpost of the New York City speakeasy-style lounge and eatery, Beauty & Essex, as well as the first outpost of Los Angeles cult fave Eggslut, which will be open overnight on select nights to feed the late-night crowd. The Juice Standard, a local micro-chain for cold-pressed juices, offers an additional menu of "cold-pressed cocktails" exclusively at The Cosmo location; a Momofuku project is also slated to open later this year.

Vegas Has a Huge New Stage
In addition to the multitude of entertainment offerings up and down The Strip, the city this spring inaugurated the T-Mobile Arena, a state-of-the-art venue that will host both pro sports games and blockbuster concert tours, including Gwen Stefani, Drake, Kanye West, and the Rolling Stones. Cross-check the schedule before you set your bachelorette dates — a concert here could be a highlight of your weekend. The Park, a huge outdoor plaza dotted with art installations and open-air restaurants, now connects the arena with the New York-New York and Monte Carlo hotels; a 5,000-seat theatre venue is opening soon, too.

Get Your Culture On — No, Really.
The local art scene is having a moment. First Fridays in the 18B Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas are a mash-up of gallery openings, open studios, street vendors and dining and imbibing specials at other local establishments (definitely stop by the Velveteen Rabbit). Additionally, the Las Vegas Contemporary Arts Center this year moved into its new permanent home; for a bit of vintage Vegas, don't miss the Neon Museum, which collects retired signs from casinos, hotels, motels, and wedding chapels. What could be more perfect for an Instagram bachelorette group photo opp?

These Bespoke Offerings Are Pretty Suite
From the Nobu Hotel inside Caesars Palace to the Delano, a South Beach offshoot located on the upper floors of Mandalay Bay, resorts are getting creative with bespoke offerings that often come with VIP amenities. In addition to having a private elevator entrance, guests of the ARIA Sky Suites have exclusive use of ARIA's Sky Pool and its spa-like treats including chilled towels, frozen grapes, smoothies and more. Nearby, the Vdara Hotel & Spa, an all-suite, non-gaming property that connects to the ARIA and the Bellagio via walkways, is tucked far enough away from the bustle of The Strip to have a totally different vibe, yet is never too far from the action.
Think a penthouse suite is beyond any reasonable stretch of the imagination? The LINQ Hotel, a new Caesars offering geared towards Millennials that opened last year, features two penthouse suites for rates that start at $700 per night. The hotel also offers poolside cabana rooms that walk out onto the pool deck and include waitress service from the pool bar during daytime hours because, well, they can — it's Vegas, baby.

6 Ways To Throw A Stress-Free Bachelorette Party

If you were deemed with the daunting task of planning a bachelorette party for your bride-to-be, the initial thought that probably popped into your head was, “This is going to be a piece of cake.” Or NOT! Here are six ways keep it stress-free:

Investigate Ideal Spots
Whether your BFF’s bash is a surprise or not, you should pick a spot based on her personality because not every gorgeous gal dreams of jet-setting to Las Vegas to mimic the movie The Hangover. Think: is she laid-back, outgoing, adventurous, classy, or trendy? Find out where to host the last fling before the ring here.

Estimate The Entourage
Grab the guest list to reference as a resource. The smaller the crowd, the more expensive, and the larger the crowd, the less expensive. Also, ask if they live near or far. You might have to meet in the middle as a compromise. You would not want to fly coast-to-coast or drive during rush hour traffic to barely make it in time for the first pop, fizz, and clink of champagne bottles. Ultimately, you should try to be thoughtful of the those traveling.

Communicate via Conversations
Schedule a planning period at a local coffee shop to create a checklist. Google Hangout or Skype those in that could not stop by for a caffeine boost. One of the major topics to discuss are dates. The event will most likely take place in either the spring or summer months, so you will have to be understanding of vacations that might already be booked with significant others. From there on out, use a giant, group email thread to chit chat.

Determine A Dollar Amount
Pick a price that is reasonable (and realistic)! And let the leading ladies know what is included like:
- Airfare
- Gas
- Hotel room
- Rental property
- Security deposit
- Breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner
- Drinks
- Extracurricular activities
- Favors

Pass Out Projects
Delegate tasks out to feel accomplished together as a team! One person is in charge of going grocery shopping (or making a libations list), one person is in charge of reserving tables at restaurants, one person is in charge of organizing an outing, one person is in charge of choosing a craft, or one person is in charge of getting a game.

Stock Up On Swag
The traditional attire of the bride-to-be wearing white and bridesmaids wearing black is still trending for a night out on the town. Score a stylish sash too! It is also becoming fun to liven up the festivities with other adorable matching accessories.

Bachelorette Party Game Guide

While the bridal shower is usually the more traditional time to play organized games, there's no reason you can't do it at the bachelorette party too. The key to pulling off a few fun, organized games at the bachelorette party is to keep them short, make the rules easy to follow and ensure any game you choose can be played with a glass of champagne in hand! Find inspiration below.

The Game: Bachelorette Categories

The Gist: It's a play off of the game Kings, except with wedding- or bachelorette-related topics.
What to Prep: Come up with several (5 to 10) wedding or bachelorette-related categories and write them down on separate note cards. Make them as easy or difficult as you want. Your topics could be anything from wedding dress designers to types of flowers and famous wedding movies. If you want to go more R-rated, add a few (ahem) sexy categories.
How to Play: Everyone takes turns choosing a card and then they have 10 seconds to name an item in that category. If the player can't think of one item for that category, they're out and they have to drink!

The Game: Finish His Sentence

The Gist: It's like The Newlywed Game, but without the groom there.
What to Prep: Ask the bride's fiancé to write down some things about her, with your help. For example, "I love when I come home and [bride's name] is ______." or "My favorite thing to do with [bride's name] is ______ because ______." See where we're going with this? Once you have all of the sentences, write or print out the standard parts on cardstock. Make enough extra cards for each guest to fill in how they think the groom would complete the sentence. If you want to make the game into more of a game show, buy a couple whiteboards and dry-erase markers and have everyone write down their answers at the same time.
How to Play: Read each of the groom's sentences aloud, emphasizing the blank. Then have all players write down their fill-in-the-blank answers and take turns reading them out loud to the group. Keep a score of the guests who get the answers the closest to the truth.

The Game: Lingerie Guessing Game

The Gist: Everyone brings a piece of lingerie they feel describes their personality to gift to the bride, then the bride guesses who gave each present.
What to Prep: Let each guest know ahead of time to bring a bra, panties, a teddy -- whatever! -- to the party as a gift. Distract the bride while you hang each one around the room.
How to Play: Once all the items are on display, have the bride walk around surveying each piece and write down who she thinks brought it. See how many she can get right! Have her take a drink for each one she gets incorrect.

The Game: Never Have I Ever

The Gist: Each player takes a turn completing the phrase "Never have I ever…" with a true statement. The rest of the group has to take a drink if the statement isn't true for them.
What to Prep: Nothing!
How to Play: Take turns coming up with deeds you've never done. With this game, the more scandalous, the better! For example, "Never have I ever had sex at the zoo!" If anyone actually has, they take a revealing drink. If only one person drinks, the rule is she has to reveal all the details. Obviously if it's an all-ages party, tame the tone a little so no one feels embarrassed.

The Game: A Sexy Treasure Hunt

The Gist: A saucy take on the traditional scavenger hunt.
What to Prep: Hide sexy items, like fuzzy handcuffs, body paint and lacy panties throughout the house, backyard or wherever you're throwing the party.
How to Play: Divide guests into teams and give them a list of items to find. The team that finds the most items wins. Up the challenge (and fun) and gives guests clues instead of item names, such as "something adventurous for the bedroom."

Yes, It's Possible to Plan an Awesome Bachelorette Party on a Meager Budget

Alternative Bachelorette Party Ideas
Photo: Getty Images

If you want to throw your favorite bride the amazing bachelorette bash she deserves, but simply don't have the dough to go big — think a girls' weekend in Las Vegas — don't despair. "A bachelorette party doesn't necessarily have to be sexy," explains Jesse Tombs, senior event producer for Alison Events. "It should be a celebration of a woman's single life before she met her beau. Pictures from her college days, baby pictures and funny stories are more interesting and original than penis shaped pasta. Keep it classy and simple — and skip the stripper."

Here, Tombs suggests eight incredibly fun ideas that won't break the budget. In fact, they should all come in at less than $100 a woman!

Go for a game of mini-golf.
"Make T-shirts and create teams within the group to make the game really memorable," suggests Tombs.

Challenge your BFFs to bowling.
"Book a private room in the back to have cake, and hang funny posters of the bride on the walls," Tombs says.

Shop for lingerie until you drop.
"Then go for lunch at a cute café and unwrap the gifts bought for the bride during shopping that day," says Tombs.

Paint your own pottery.
"Or take a class, and ask the teacher to use the space afterward to open presents," Tombs suggests.

Taste Merlot — or the bride's favorite blend — in wine country.
"Small buses or town cars usually run $50 to $70 per guest for the day to drive around to different tasting rooms," notes Tombs. "Bring a picnic lunch along to enjoy in one of the wineries' picnic areas."

Get your party on — at home.
"Invite the girls over for an at-home facial and watch old movies," says Tombs, "or light a bunch of candles or a fire in the hearth and have a cozy night swapping stories, drinking Chianti and eating flat-breads and good chocolate."

Host a blind wine tasting at your house.
"Each guest brings a different bottle of wine, then the bottles are placed in brown bags and everyone has to vote on which one they liked the most," explains Tombs. "It's often funny when the one everyone gravitates to is from Trader Joe's." Pair the wine with easy and simple pre-made snacks, and snag inexpensive wine glasses for all your guests from IKEA, Tombs suggests.

Get crafty with a floral crown workshop.
"Find a local floral designer that teaches wreath-making or crown-making classes," instructs Tombs. "It's feminine, romantic and chic. Dry the crowns and keep forever as a memento of the occasion, or use them on your special day for décor!"

5 Rules to Surviving Your Bachelorette Party

We’ve rounded up some of our top bachelorette party survival tips so you won’t wake up in the morning regretting a thing.

1. No Cameras Allowed
Tell your girls to leave the cameras at home for your night on the town. Sure there’s a temptation to capture every moment but ask yourself -- do you really want those images splattered across Facebook? Instead, take a few photos at the start of the night before you head out so you’ll still have something to look back on.

2. Leave the Mini-Skirt at Home
You never know what your girls might have planned, so it’s probably best to leave your shortest mini-skirt or dress at home. Who knows? What if they’re taking you to that bar with a mechanical bull -- you’d hate to miss out on the fun just because you wore the wrong attire. Plus, you'll want to be comfortable on your big night.

3. Load Up on Water
When you’re out with your best friends having a great time, it’s pretty easy to lose track of how much you’ve had to drink -- until it’s too late. Mix up your drinks with shots of water or have a glass of water between each alcoholic drink. It will save you from having a major headache the next morning.

4. Food: Eat Simple
Even if you’re a foodie, try to eat fairly plain foods the night of your bachelorette party. You don’t want to head home early because of something you ate. And for that matter, eat light and be sure to have snacks throughout the night. That way, you won’t feel groggy after a big meal, and mixing in some snacks while you’re drinking will prevent you from getting sick.

5. No Phoning Home!
You’re there to spend this night with your girls -- so don't call your fiance every five minutes to remind him how much you love him. He knows. Trust us. If you simply cannot part with your phone, hand it to one of your bridesmaids and let them know they're in charge.

The Top 10 Bachelorette Party Destinations in 2014—Plus, a Cool Online Tool for Planning Your Weekend

07-bridesmaids

Where bachelorette parties used to be one wild night on the town, more brides are using their bachelorette as an excuse for a real girlfriends' getaway with their 'maids. Both party options (one day vs. several) have their merits, but I'm a fan of the mini-vacay, when money permits. With that in mind, here are the 10 hottest destinations for bachelorette parties in 2014, according to the clever gal behind The Bach, an online tool that helps streamline bachelorette party planning while you're busy with, you know, everything else that comes with planning a wedding (and having a life).

1. LAS VEGAS
Fabulous Las Vegas is still the number one destination for both bachelor and bachelorette parties. Head here for rowdy pool parties, elaborate clubs, lively casinos, fantastic restaurants, and entertaining shows.

2. MIAMI
If your group loves warm weather and exciting nightlife, Miami is the perfect destination. Bachelorette parties flock to South Beach for wild pool parties, white sand beaches, and some of the steamiest nightclubs in the country.

3. NEW YORK CITY
NYC is known for its amazing nightlife and award-winning restaurants. With a huge variety of unique daytime activity options to add, your bachelorette group can do anything from a trapeze class to a sail around Manhattan.

4. NEW ORLEANS
If the bride is looking for a truly rowdy party scene, nothing compares to the bars on Bourbon Street. By day, your group can try flavorful creole cuisine, admire the distinct NOLA architecture, and enjoy some great jazz.

5. NAPA VALLEY
Napa Valley is all about drinking in style and relaxing over incredible wine-country views. Here you can taste some of the best wines in the country, relax at world-class spas, do a river cruise along the Napa River, or try something adventurous, like a hot-air balloon ride.

6. AUSTIN
As the live music capital of the world, Austin is the perfect destination if the bride loves catching shows. During the day, go tubing or rent a boat, and don't miss out on Austin's delicious Tex-Mex and barbecue spots.

7. CHARLESTON
The always-charming Charleston offers beautiful architecture, delicious Southern-style cooking, and a lively bar scene. During the day stroll through the quaint streets, hit the beach, or go out on a boat for the afternoon.

8. SCOTTSDALE
Scottsdale's warm weather, scenic landscapes, and gorgeous spas provide an ideal setting for a relaxing girls' getaway. At night, check out the lively bars and restaurants in the Old Town.

9. ATLANTIC CITY
Atlantic City is a favorite with many East Coast brides because they can relax on the beach during the day, then try their luck at gambling before dinner and dancing at one of the casino clubs.

10. CHICAGO
This cosmopolitan city has a fantastic restaurant and bar scene and tons of fun group activities to try. Bachelorette parties can choose from cooking and art classes, comedy and cabaret shows, burlesque classes, and more.

Do you want a bachelorette weekend? Or just one night? Which of these cities would you pick?
Brides who want a multi-day party, remember: The bachelorette getaway is a luxury, not a mandatory event, so you need to graciously give cash-strapped bridesmaids or those with kids—or, heck, those who just don't want to use their vacation days—a break.

4 Must-Haves For An Epic Bachelorette Party

Having an epic bachelorette party isn’t rocket science. You only need a few basic (and hilarious) items to take it from boring to bail out in ten seconds flat.

1. You Need A Headpiece!
You want everyone you encounter (the limo driver, the mini-mart clerk, bartenders and cute guys at bar) to know what’s coming when they see your entourage. Crazy colored wigs, tiaras and witty hats will do the trick in a pinch — but the mini-veil screams, “It’s my bachelorette and I’m here to party.”

2. A Booze Container (For the Pre-Party)
Let’s be real, you’re probably going to have plenty of booze to get the party going. And while you don’t necessarily need a flask to make that happen, these neon flasks are way too cute not to have on hand. Who says debauchery can’t be fashion-forward? $43, TheKnotShop.com
3. An Outrageous Accessory Or Two
When it comes to getting outfitted for a bachelorette party there is no such thing as over-the-top. Oversized kitchsy rings that light up or even personalized Ring Pops for all the ladies (yep, you read that right — they’re new!) are a fun idea.
4. A Hangover Helper Kit
Take care of the morning-after with a little personal hangover helper kits. Must-haves include bottle water, Advil, Alka Seltzer, chapstick, a cooling eye-mask and flip flops or foldable flats (because no one should have to walk home in heels). If you don’t have time (or the will) to make your own, you can buy ready-made kits or just have over-the-counter remedies on hand like Aspirin. Blowfish also works wonders!

What You Can (and Can't) Ask of Your Bridesmaids

There's been a lot of buzz over an email from a bride to her prospective bridesmaids, where the bride laid out what she expects from her bridal party: buy the dress the bride selects ("everything will be affordable but if you think by affordable its [sic] going to be a $25 Forever 21 dress, then your [sic] going to the wrong wedding"), fly around the country to attend every wedding-related event (engagement party on the East coast, bachelorette party in Vegas, wedding in Vail, CO — "If you don't think you'll be able to attend one party but can make the rest of them I'm sorry but I'll have to take you out as a bridesmaid and put you as a guest."), don't book any plans between February and August after this week ("if your [sic] going away in January I don't care. I want any dates from February to the day of our wedding in August, that way we know not to plan something when your [sic] away. But after this week the dates are set in stone."), and respond to the bride's emails promptly ("if its [sic] something important and it takes you a week even 2-3 days to get back to me seeeee ya! I don't have time to wait around for responses, everyone has their phone on them, it shouldn't take you more than a day to get back to me, even if your [sic] out of the country, check your email!"), among other demands. And if you can't meet these demands, then you're out of the bridal party.

In a way, I can understand her intentions — by clearly laying out her expectations, she can avoid a lot of issues down the road. And if I were a prospective bridesmaid in this wedding, I'd greatly appreciate the easy out. But it's the tone (and the misuse of "your" vs. "you're" — sorry, I'm an editor!) that I find most offensive.

The email has called to question what is truly expected from your bridal party these days. So, we've broken down what you should — and shouldn't — ask of your bridesmaids.

DO: Expect your bridesmaids to attend the wedding (obviously) and the rehearsal.

DON'T: Demand that they attend every wedding gown shopping appointment, vendor appointment, or even every pre-wedding party if they're not held locally.

DO: Take into consideration your bridesmaids schedules before planning the engagement party, and have your maid of honor do the same with the shower and bachelorette party.

DON'T: Kick them out of the bridal party of they can't make it to one event. Seriously.

DO: Feel free to bounce ideas off of your bridesmaids.

DON'T: Forget that your bridesmaids' lives don't revolve around your wedding. Please don't set a deadline for responding.

DO: Rely on your maid of honor to coordinate with the bridal party for their dress fittings, organize the bridal shower and bachelorette party, and help you with preparatory and organizational tasks, like addressing invitations and keeping a record of gifts at the shower.

DON'T: Treat her like your personal assistant — don't inundate her with wedding-related demands at all hours of the day, don't expect her to complete all of the DIY projects you started but can't finish, don't ask her to play referee regarding issues with your future in-laws, and don't make her research and meet with your potential vendors.

DO: Inform your maid of honor of your preferences for the bachelorette party — strippers or no strippers? Vegas bash or a low-key beach weekend?

DON'T: Ignore budget concerns from your bridesmaids. If you're not paying for the trip yourself, then it's not fair to demand an expensive trip.

DO: Ask that your bridesmaids purchase their own attire — whether you choose the dress or allow them to choose their own.

DON'T: Ask that your bridesmaids get spray tans, professional makeup application, manicures, pedicures, and professionally-done updos — unless you're footing the bill.

DO: Be clear up front about your expectations from your bridesmaids.

DON'T: Be surprised if you end up with no bridesmaids after sending an email like this one.

Bottom line: Don't forget why you've asked these girls to be your bridesmaids in the first place. They're your family and/or your closest friends. You chose them because you love them and want them standing up with you as you celebrate the happiest day of your life. If your best friend can't afford a trip to Vegas, does that really make her a crappy friend who doesn't deserve to be a bridesmaid?

Balloons, Bride and Bazinga!!!

Hello Blogger Buddies... Happy October and Welcome to the Weekend Recap.

Friday I got off of work and headed home. Isaiah came over this weekend and we decided to go out just the 4 of us for Family dinner, but before we left, there was a Dance Off

Yes we Cameron's get down and party with the best of them. LOL

After Dancing, we went out to find a spot for dinner... We were going to go to AppleBee's but the wait was too long so we decided on Elephant Bar. They have a HUGE menu and the food is great... Here is every one's dinner choices.

Isaiah's Cheeseburger

Jacelyn's Chicken Marsala

Scott's Jambalaya

My Bacon Cheeseburger

After a full dinner with no dessert (Which is rare for us) We all went home to get some rest after a long week. Scott and I decided to have a beer afterwards in honor of National Beer Drinking Day and opened up one from David and Renee's Wedding....

It was a really good Hef for sure and a great way to end the night.

Saturday was a busy day. I got up early according to my internal alarm clock and got laundry started. I like to do it early since there are not many people in the laundry room on a Saturday morning. When I went back up, Isaiah was awake so he helped me with the 2nd half of laundry

After laundry and making breakfast for everyone, Scott and Isaiah headed out to his Soccer game (GO GOLDEN KNIGHTS) while Jacelyn and I stayed back at home and got some cleaning done. Saturday was National Coffee Day so I decided to have some coffee to go with my morning

With cleaning and everything done, I started to get ready to head out to Jacelyn's game... GO PANTHERS!!

And get myself ready for CAMERON BACHELORETTE PARTY!!!

I got to finally wear my Mrs. Cameron shirt.

The girls did and OUTSTANDING JOB on putting together the party... Here are a few details

All ready to PARTY!!!!

The balloon was in the way but you get where we are.....

Bridal Cowgirl!!

And yes... There was the shoes.

We had a great instructor, Katie, and she had a good time with us. There was food, games and ALCOHOL! I had a great time and appreciated everyone being there.

Sunday I woke up Hangover Free (Still holding the record for that) and got the day started. Jacelyn and Xzyria had cheer practice so I dropped them off there. Brandon T. and Isaiah had to get measured for their Tuxedos for the wedding so off to Men's Warehouse we went...

The boys looked sharp as they got measured....

I was all about the mirrors and playing with my phone like a little kid.....LOL

After the Tux Shop, we went to my parents house for dinner. My cousin Joi came by with her daughter Zaria and her and Isaiah had a ball together:

Deja the Dog also had fun too.

Here is what is on tap for this week:
